Despite ongoing efforts to counter terrorism, threats persist across the ideological spectrum—from foreign terrorist organizations to state actors and lone perpetrators. Within this evolving landscape, youth radicalization has become one of the most pressing security challenges, with minors increasingly involved in extremist activities.
The rise in youth extremism is fueled by political grievances, conspiracy theories, and social movements. Extremist groups have adapted their messaging and tactics to resonate with young people, while digital platforms have provided unprecedented reach, accelerating the spread of violent ideologies and enabling recruitment and mobilization at scale.
Securing Futures Forum 2025 will take a long-term perspective, analyzing the trajectories and implications of youth radicalization in the digital age, anticipating how the threat landscape may evolve, and equipping leaders across sectors to assess the impact of today’s decisions on future global security.
